COACHES INFORMATION

Inclement Weather Policy:
Games/practices will be determined by information on the PGCBGC Sports Weather Line.  Note:  If PG Public Schools are closed due to weather, than scheduled Gym activities will be cancelled.

Call the Weather Line at (301) 927-0822 for daily updates on scheduled games.

Coaches Background Checks.  Prince Georges County Boys & Girls Club has partnered with the National Center for Safety Intitiatives to implement a standardized approach to background screening for coaches and volunteers. 

All Background Checks will be done online through a self-registration program and results will be a simple "Red Light/Green Light" clearance report issued in accordance with the criteria chosen by PGCBGC.
Results generally take 10 business days to complete.

BACKGROUND CHECK INSTRUCTIONS

1.) Go to www.ncsisafe.com

                2.) Click on “Background Check Screening Self Registration” on the left side of the webpage

                3.) Enter Self Registration Number: 56790595

                4.) Enter your information as requested

                5.) Provide legal authorization and certification

                6.) The background check can take up to 10 business days so please make sure to give yourself adequate time

Coaches, Assistant Coaches and Team Moms 
Mandatory ID Badge are required before the season begins for all coaches, assistant coaches and team parents.
ID badges cannot be older than 3 years.  If a badge is stamped with 2009 or before, you MUST RENEW.

ASEP INSTRUCTIONS

            1.) Go to www.asep.com

                2.) Click Partner Organizations under the title “Quick Clicks”

                3.) Choose the Letter “P”

                4.) Scroll down to the bottom and click on Prince George’s County Boys and Girls Club

                5.) Choose the course of the sport that you intend to coach by clicking on the corresponding

                      online course icon.

ALL ASEP TRAINING AVAILABLE ONLINE ONLY. 
There will not be any in-person, face-to-face style classrooms available.  You must be logged in first to purchase the class.  To qualify for the PGCBGC rate, please choose PGCBGC as the organization - see instructions on the PGCBGC website. 
 
ONLINE CLASS FEE - $19.95 each
The coaching book is included. Take the interactive course online at your own pace.  Then take the online test and get your results immediately

A Key Code is not needed.

To receive certification, one must complete the ASEP online, complete the test with a passing score, and successfully pass a background check. 

Beginning January 1, 2011 All ASEP Training and Background Checks will be completed online ONLY. ASEP Training will no longer be available in a seminar.
