Forestville Boys & Girls Club

The Forestville Boys & Girls Club (FBGC) is a community-based non-profit organization that sponsors a diverse range of sports and social activities for boys and girls in the local community since 1955. We cater to a wide age range, offering a variety of sports activities for boys and girls between the ages of 4 and 14.

At FBGC, our commitment to expanding our programs and continuing to mentor through sports is unwavering. Our coaches are not just about teaching the fundamentals of the sport but also about instilling essential life lessons and values in our players.

History

The Forestville Boys & Girls Club was initially formed in 1955 as the Forestville Little League. It was created so boys within the Forestville area could participate in organized baseball.  In 1959, the Club expanded to other phases of organized sports. The Forestville Boys Club was renamed and became a participating Prince George's County Boys & Girls (PGCBGC) member.  Incorporated on September 24, 1965. Furthering its inclusive mission, expansion occurred again in 1973 to include girls, and the Club became known as Forestville Boys & Girls Club of Prince George's County, Maryland, Inc.

MISSION STATEMENT

The Forestville Boys & Girls Club (FBGC) 's mission is a collective endeavor involving the entire community. We strive to provide an enriched and positive atmosphere for all youths, and we couldn't do it without the support and participation of our community members. Together, we are dedicated to supporting our members in their endeavor to participate in FBGC-sponsored activities successfully. We encourage them to continuously improve family relations, social interactions, personal growth, and career development during and beyond Club membership.

We are a community-driven organization committed to uplifting individuals and families through impactful programs and compassionate outreach. COMMUNITY OUTREACH

Our community outreach initiatives are dedicated to supporting individuals and families in need through a variety of impactful programs. We organize regular food drives and grocery giveaways to ensure that no one in our community goes hungry, providing essential nourishment to those facing food insecurity. Our back-to-school drives supply children with the tools they need for academic success, including backpacks, notebooks, and other school essentials. During the holiday season, we distribute food baskets to help families celebrate with dignity and joy. In times of crisis, we also offer emergency financial assistance to help cover urgent needs such as rent, utilities, or medical expenses. Through these efforts, we strive to foster a compassionate, resilient, and supportive community.
